The Vision

The Reach DTS focuses on being the hands and feet of Jesus to the very ends of the earth. It’s about joyfully taking the light of the gospel to the nations and sharing the hope of God’s heart of Justice and Mercy (Lion and Lamb). This school is a rugged adventure that will take you beyond your comfort zone to meet those unreached by the gospel and return to the heart of missions.

The Reach DTS is like any other DTS divided in two phases; lecture phase and outreach phase.

LECTURE PHASE

The first 3 months of our DTS you get the opportunity to deepen your relationship with The Lord while preparing you to go out to the nations on outreach. You will receive life transforming teaching on a variety of topics, such as:

We will also have worship times, intercession, small groups, evangelism and bible reading groups (We read through the whole Bible!)

The Unique thing about the Reach DTS is that throughout the lecture phase you will be put through simulated injustice, as well as field days that will push you to seek God in the midst of uncomfortable, fun, and faith building situations.

Outreach

This will be a life-changing journey where you can expect the unexpected. Our hope is that wherever we end up, we are reaching out to learn and celebrate the culture, eat what they eat, and meet locals where they are at! The Reach DTS is much less about “where” and much more about “who”.  Each student who is a part of the Reach DTS is sowing into the bigger story of what God is doing in the nations. 

Our DTS has 3 focus nations for outreach. Each nation fits the core of the Reach DTS. We hope to see long-term impact through short-term outreaches. During the lecture phase, we will have focused training for each nation to prepare you for outreach. Our desire for these trainings is to educate and equip you for the ministries you will partner with.  

Outreach activities will vary but may include serving those who are at risk for human trafficking, refugee camps, slum ministry, teaching English as a second language, orphanages, children’s ministries, traveling to rural villages, sports ministry, evangelism, and practical work. 

The nations we will be sending teams to are Cambodia, Mexico, and one nation located in South Asia, which is unspecified for security reasons. You will get more information on this country prior to the start of the school.

This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successfully completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM.
