The Reach DTS is a unique and exciting DTS that focuses on reaching The Least, The Last, and The Lost. It’s about taking the Gospel to the nations and sharing God’s heart of mercy and justice through missions. This is a school that will take you to the ends of the earth and go the extra mile to reach those unreached by the Gospel. We want Our students to walk in a lifestyle of worship, intercession, excitement for the word, humility and servitude, an unbound faith, and a heart for adventure

What is A DTS?

The Discipleship Training School (YWAM DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.

The course is a full-time program that lasts five to nine months and is the prerequisite for not only becoming YWAM staff, but also for YWAM’s second-level training schools.

It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase.

In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world, not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.

LECTURE PHASE

Our base is situated, right at one of the beautiful beaches of Southern Norway, popular for all-year-round water activities. During lecture phase, you will have time to explore the beautiful nature Norway has to offer. You can find the well known Pulpit Rock just an hour drive away. 10 amazing weeks of Bible based teaching will help you grow in Christ and become grounded in the foundations of our faith!

Each week will cover a specific topic such as Missions, The Bible, Father-Heart of God, Relationships, etc. and each subject will be taught by wonderful teachers from Norway and around the world. Our teachers vary from year to year, but each one will invest in you and inspire you through their lifestyle, faith and wisdom. We will also go through the whole bible throughout the school.

The Unique thing about the Reach DTS is that throughout the lecture phase you will be put through simulated injustice, as well as field days that will push you to seek God in the midst of uncomfortable, fun, and faith building situations.

Outreach

Outreach for the Reach DTS is much less about “where” and much more about “who”. We are motivated by the Gospel to go anywhere, and everywhere. Being the hands and feet of Christ, by showing Mercy, Justice, and compassion to those we meet. To the last we will send pioneers. To the least we will send workers. To the lost we will send awakeners. This will be a rugged, challenging and life-changing journey where you can expect the unexpected. Wherever we end up, we will live with the locals we are reaching out to, learn their culture, eat what they eat, and meet them where they’re at.

Outreach activities will vary, but could consisted of working in slums, refugee camps, orphanages, children’s ministries, traveling to rural villages, church planting and practical work. 

Wherever we go, and whatever we do, we know that God is leading us and we’re ready to “Go!” and do all that He asks.

This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successfully completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM.
