SCHOOL OF WORSHIP
Are you longing to see every tribe, tongue and nation worship the Lord?
School of worship is a secondary school in YWAM’s “University of the Nations” (UofN). In this school we want to explore what it means to have a culture of worship as the body of Christ in Norway and the nations.
Lecture phase:
The school of worship has an 11-week lecture phase where you will spend time in lectures but also practical learning through prayer, music, and creative worship. You will receive teachings on topics that will help you develop your character as grow in worship with Christ , grow in biblical understanding of worship, explorer creativity, and intimacy with the Lord.
The school of worship has a focus on the heart, head, and hands. This will lead you into a new depth as you worship with and for the King of Kings!
Heart – Character
We are committed to living a life of obedience from a heart of love and intimacy. We value worship that reflects a sincere and honest heart after God.
Col 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
Head – Knowledge
We believe the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We are committed to having our worship expressions and songs biblically based and to pass these values on to the next generation.
Col 3:16: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Hands – Skills
We are called to sing God's praises and play instruments for his glory. We are committed to thank, praise and worship him with our music and other creative expressions.
Psalm 33:1-3: “Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Sing to him a new song; play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts.”
