From Norway to Papua New Guinea – the land of the unexpected, we want to bring holistic care, hope for the future and the love of Jesus to the people of Papua New Guinea that do not have it as easily accessible as many others do.

What is A DTS?

The Discipleship Training School (YWAM DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.

The course is a full-time program that lasts five to nine months and is the prerequisite for not only becoming YWAM staff, but also for YWAM’s second-level training schools.

It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase.

In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world, not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.

LECTURE PHASE - (Norway)

Our base is situated, right at one of the beautiful beaches of Southern Norway, popular for all-year-round water activities. During lecture phase, you will have time to explore the beautiful nature Norway has to offer. You can find the well known Pulpit Rock just an hour drive away. 10 amazing weeks of Bible based teaching will help you grow in Christ and become grounded in the foundations of our faith!

Each week will cover a specific topic such as Missions, The Bible, Father-Heart of God, Relationships, etc. and each subject will be taught by wonderful teachers from Norway and around the world. Our teachers vary from year to year, but each one will invest in you and inspire you through their lifestyle, faith and wisdom. We will also go through the whole bible throughout the school.

Outreach - (PNG)

Outreach for the Medical Ships DTS is coming aboard the MV YWAM PNG ship and sailing around to remote villages in Papua New Guinea. We are motivated to help and serve. Whether you have training in healthcare, maritime, or you simply want to use your God-given uniqueness to serve, this is a chance to pour out your gifts where they’re needed most.

** Price includes all costs for teachings, meals, accommodation and travel expenses during the school (21 weeks). Not included are expenses for the travel to and from the DTS and potential expenses for visas, vaccinations and items for private use (e.g. toiletries).

This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successfully completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM.
