WInd & waves DTS

Use your foundation in God alongside a sense of great adventure to share the gospel combined with your passion for wind, water and snow sports.

The Vision
Wind and Waves is called to catalyse young leaders with a burning heart for Jesus into creating a movement that brings the kingdom of God to the extreme sports community and beyond. We want you to be marked by; a Christ centred lifestyle with a zeal for prayer and worship, risk taking with the Holy Spirit, fundament in scripture and a passion to play and explore in His creation. We are believing God for sending the winds of His Spirit and the Waves of revival in the places we go.

Not a (kite)surfer yet?
You don’t need any kite, surf or snow experience because we have instructors in our staff team! You also don’t need to bring your own surf/ kite gear because we have everything you need on our base.

The Wind & Waves DTS is like any other DTS divided in two phases; lecture phase and outreach phase.

Lecture Phase

The first 3 months of our DTS you get the opportunity to deepen your relationship with The Lord while preparing you to go out to the nations on outreach. You will receive life transforming teaching on a variety of topics, such as:

• Identity & God’s heart for Israel

• The Gospel & Evangelism

• Wilderness week

• Missions

• Biblical worldview

• Re-entry

We will also have worship times, intercession, small groups, evangelism and bible reading groups (we read through the whole Bible!)

Track days
Every week there will be one and a half track days, (weather dependent) in which you do:
- Wind; Kitesurfing
- Waves; Surfing

The area we are in is well known for its great kitesurfing and plenty of amazing wave surfing spots.
The snow-kiting and skiing/snowboarding part will be in the end of the DTS after outreach.
We encourage snowball fights.

outreach

During the outreach phase you will be given the opportunity to apply everything you learned during the lecture phase and go out to share the love of Jesus all over the world. On this unique DTS you will go to at least two different nations during outreach!

We have two main focuses on outreach:

1. Reaching out to the lost by serving the local church and work together with them in their local ministries.

2. Wind, snow and watersport related ministries where you get the opportunity to use your passion for extreme sports to build his kingdom.

We love to kite, kite to love, serve everywhere and surf anywhere!

You can choose between three different outreach tracks:

The nations we are focused on: Israel, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Japan, Central Asia (and some more that we can’t publicly announce).

If you want to live a life fully committed to Jesus in the same way you would commit to riding down a mountain or catching a wave. If you are willing to take risks to follow the Holy Spirit just like you would take the risk for a big jump with your kite - then this DTS is for you.

This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successfully completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM.
